Which are the two communities connected?
It started with the twinning of the Church of the Holy Apostles Pimlico (London, UK) with the Todonyang Parish of the Missionary Community of Saint Paul the Apostle (Turkana, Kenya). We are now a growing community of people across Europe connected with a growing community of people across Turkana.
Which schools do you sponsor?
We sponsor the St John Paul II day day school in Todonyang, with over 150 children. There are many more children needing education in Turkana, so we plan to expand the school to 250 children by 2028 and build new schools.
Why do you sponsor children education in Turkana?
Turkana is a special place with special people. They have a strong culture, are extremely welcoming and are a vivid testimony of Christ. We have visited Turkana and seen Christ in children, who live in poverty and are joyful. We have also seen them suffering because the local government does not provide enough schools.
Sponsored schools provide the basics every children deserves. We invest in children because they are our future. We invest in the children of Turkana because we invest in Christ.
